General Pest Control Questions
-
Why is flea control important?
Fleas reproduce rapidly and are difficult to eliminate once established. Timely control prevents widespread infestations, allergic reactions, and disease transmission.
-
Why is professional flea treatment more effective?
Professional treatments use residual insecticides that break the life cycle, eliminating both adults and larvae.
-
How can I prevent fleas?
Treat pets regularly, wash bedding, vacuum frequently, and block access to wild animals.
-
What health risks do fleas cause?
Flea bites cause itching, skin irritation, and in some cases allergic reactions or disease transmission.
-
Can fleas infest a home without pets?
Yes. Fleas can enter via wild animals or remain dormant in carpets and upholstery until they find a host.
-
How can I identify flea species?
Cat fleas are small, reddish-brown, and bite cats, dogs, and humans. Dog fleas are less common but mostly found on dogs.
-
What flea species are common in New Zealand?
